Obituary of Barbara Ann Rowlands

Barbara Ann Rowlands, 78, of Northmoreland Township passed away on Saturday June 25, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Michael Rowlands.

Born in Kingston, PA on September 22, 1943 she is the daughter of the late John Russell and Anna Bonnie Miller.

She was a graduate of Tunkhannock Area School and an active member of the Northmoreland Baptist Church.

Barb loved having the family together each Sunday for dinner as the table was laid with homemade breads, jellies, fresh vegetables and a piping hot roast beef. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and was constantly volunteering at many of the church functions and dinners. She enjoyed bird watching and growing her beautiful orchids.

She was a dedicated wife and mother who worked side by side with her husband tending to the family greenhouse business. Barb had a love for her customers and enjoyed her conversations with them.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Missy Randall and husband Tim and Amanda Banta and husband Bill; son-in-law Jim Wescott and wife Cindy, sister, Ellen May; grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband Matt, James and wife Angela, Michael and wife Aly, Drew and wife Kim, Luke, Brianna, Justin, Brandon, Katie, and Billy; ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Wescott on October 4, 2016 and sister, Marilyn Race.

Family and friends are invited to attend Barbara's funeral service which will be held on Wednesday June 29, 202 at 12:00 PM from the Northmoreland Baptist Church, 21 Ripplebrook Rd Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor James Howell and Pastor Kurt Seboe presiding. Interment will follow in Fitch Cemetery, Falls.

A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.
