Obituary of Josephine Ann Hedrick

Josephine (DeDe) Ann Hedrick, 77 of Factoryville, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. In 2014 she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley C. Hedrick.

Born in Scranton on February 25, 1945 she is the daughter of the late John and Jemma (Gabello) Cigna.

Josephine was raised in the Scranton/Dunmore area, but lived the rest of her days on the family farm in Factoryville, PA. Through her love of flowers, she became a florist and worked at Caroline's Gift Shop in Dalton. She later went on to work in home health care until her retirement.

Josephine loved spending time with her family, spoiling her pets, cooking, gardening and camping. She found much joy in going out for coffee or a meal with friends and family. She was well known for doing "just because" unexpected small gestures of love. She was an active member of the Dalton United Methodist Church.

She is survived by sons, Norman Hedrick and wife Connie and Christian Hedrick and wife Dawn; brother, Joseph Cigna and wife Kelly; grandchildren, Taylor, Faith, Aron, and Ryan Hedrick; niece, Emma Cigna and many more nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and John Cigna; and step mother, Lucy Cigna.

Family and friends are invited to attend Josephine's Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Saturday July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Dalton United Methodist Church. 125 S Turnpike Rd. Dalton, PA 18414 with Pastor Jean Blackie presiding.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
