Obituary of Viola C. Michels

Viola C. Michels Viola C. Michels of Falls, Pa. formerly of Angola, NY. died Monday in Geisinger Wyoming Valley. She was born in West Seneca, NY on April 5, 1909 daughter of the late Edward and Caroline Schneemann Bauer. Viola was an active member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer Corpus Christi Parish in Harding and a member of the Pittston Sr. Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew J. Michels, son Matthew E. Michels, daughter Geraldine Jones and a sister Louella Bauer. Surviving are daughters Carolyn Smith, of Falls, Pa., Sandra Mayer and husband Thomas of Derby, NY, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great Children. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 am from the Church of the Holy Redeemer Corpus Christi Parish in Harding with Monsignor John J. Sempa. Family will receive friends at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock on Wednesday evening 5 to 7. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Holy Redeemer, 2435 Route 92 Falls, Pa. 18616.
