Adam E. Onzik
Adam E. Onzik of Towson, Maryland died peacefully at his home on Tuesday July 9, 2013. He was born in Kingston on September 19, 1984 and is the son of Edward P. and Mary Ann Kupstas Onzik of Shavertown.
Adam was a 2003 graduate of Bishop O Reilly High School and 2007 graduate of Loyola College in Maryland with a BS in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration. He was employed by Travelers Insurance Company as a Liability Adjuster and was a member of St. Teresas Catholic Church in Shavertown
A passionate outdoorsman, Adam was a consummate hiker and backpacker, having conquered some of the most challenging terrain in the US, including adventures in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and the Presidential Peaks of New Hampshire. Adam was a friend to all and shared his wit, enthusiasm, and energy with everyone he touched.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister Ann Onzik, Washington, DC, loving companion Karen Starliper, and faithful dog Samson. Also surviving are paternal grandmother Antoinette Onzik of Dallas, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 11am from St. Theresas Church, 64 Davis St., Shavertown. Interment will be private in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown. Family will receive friends at the church from 10 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to National Park Foundation, 1201 I St NW #A, Washington, DC 20005 or www.nationalparks. org.
