Kaye C. Roote of Tunkhannock died Friday February 7, 2014 in Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. Kaye was born in Valparaiso, Ind. on December 25, 1942, daughter of the late Edison and Ruth Hatton Parker. She held numerous jobs during her working years, working as a CNA nursing care, Chiropractic Assistant and for 6 years she was employed at Greenly’s Rest Home in Thurston Hollow. Kaye was well known for her sewing talents designing and sewing numerous dresses and gowns for family and friends. She was preceded in death by a son Timothy Nelson, surviving is her husband of 8 years Richard Roote, Son David and Sandy Nelson, grandchildren Ashley Nelson, Corey Nelson, Cortney Wilkens, Bethany Brennan, Katie Ogle, Emily Nelson, great grandchildren Ellise and Annie Wilkens, Step children Richard and Missy Roote, Robert and Leona, Randy and Lori Roote, Ronald and Kimi Roote, Step daughters Rosalie and Michael Spess, Roberta and Milford Watkins, Rebecca and Stanley Kolwaski , numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. And favorite nephew JJ Roote and family and her beagles Lucy B. and Dolly B. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 10, 2014 from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W.
