Obituary of Geraldine Violet Scranta

Geraldine “Gerry” V. Scranta of Tunkhannock died on Thursday evening in the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock. She was born in Eaton Twp., Wyoming County on October 25, 1936 daughter of the Charles and Pearle Mock Kingston. Gerry was a 1954 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and prior to her retirement she was employed by the Bendix Corporation in South Montrose. Preceding her in death was her husband Theodore J. Scranta, son Theodore Scranta and a brother Clifford Kingston. Surviving is a son William Banks of Harrisburg, grandchildren Theodore Scranta, Leisa Timm both of W.Va. Clifford J. Scranta of Mehoopany, great grandchildren Alyssa Harvey of Tunkhannock, Morgan Timm of W.Va., Bret and Derek Scranta of Mehoopany and Theodore 3rd and Hayden Scranta of W.Va. a brother Kenneth Kingston of Tunkhannock. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Pastor Gary Myers of the Biblical Baptist Church in Meshoppen. Interment will be in Eaton Brick Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8.
