Obituary of Dorothy M. Sands

Dorothy M. Sands of Falls, died on Friday, September 12th. She was born in Kingston on October 3, 1945, daughter of the late Roland and Mary Milbrodt Keithline. She was employed by Nesbitt and Wilkes-Barre General Hospitals as a housekeeper and retired from Penguin Group (Book Shipper) USA after 11 years of service. Dorothy was a member of the Back Mountain Harvest Assembly Church and the Falls Adult Activities Center. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son, Thomas, brother, Donald Keithline, and great-granddaughter Eliza Hallock. Surviving are four sons: Stanley Sands and wife Alicia of Falls, Ronnie Sands and wife Sheri of Dallas, David Sands and wife Sandra of Falls, and Robert Sands and wife Katherine of Laceyville, four daughters: Rosemary Hallock of Tunkhannock, and Alice Barrett and husband Paul of West Wyoming, Bonnie Sands of CT, and Diane Sands of Mt Pleasant Mills, three brothers: Roland K. Keithline and Richard Keithline both of Nicholson, and Robert Keithline of Dallas, four sisters: Marylyn Cobb of Factoryville, Viola Foersch of Harding, Martha Brunges of Centermoreland, and Mary Cruikshank of Dallas, 22 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren and well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with interment in Perrins Marsh Cemetery, Centermoreland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 PM. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Hospice nurse Andrea Gosiewski and to the staff at the Henry Cancer Center for their loving and compassionate care.
