Richard P. Santee passed away Wednesday morning November 4, 2009, at Mercy Hospital following an illness. He was born at home on a farm in Sugar Run, PA, February 26, 1947, the son of Marie and Kenneth Santee. Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, both parents and two brothers, Kenneth Jr. and Donald. He is survived by his sister, Debbie, his niece, Beth, several nephews and nieces, and his cat Isabelle. Rich returned “home” to Tunkhannock in 2003 after living in the Midwest for almost 40 years. He was a high school teacher, a college professor and the executive director of a statewide AIDS program in Nebraska. Once back in this area, he established Confidential Consulting agency working closely with local nonprofits and small businesses. He was associated with Christmas in Our Hometown and Founders’ Day. Rich will be greatly missed. His humor, compassion, skill and vast knowledge have enriched us all. Following Rich’s instructions, there will be no service.
