My heart goes out to Melissaâs family. As you grieve, know that she is being honored with loving memories. I have so many fond memories of Missy from middle school, high school, and beyond. Last night I dug out old photos of our trips to Washington D.C. and Lackawanna State Park. She will be remembered as a true friend to me, loyal and honest. We always had fun together. Even at a young age, I can remember thinking she was so fortunate to have such a nice family. She was an amazing person... beautiful, smart, talented, sweet and loving. I will always remember her smile. May her heart and soul find peace and comfort. Sent with love and sincere sympathy~ Andrea (Miller) Hebda, Tunkhannock, PA

Melissa will be missed. I always enjoyed visiting with her at Dialysis with my dad. She looked forward to the parties.

I first met Missy in August 1981. It was the first day in my family's new home on Philadelphia Avenue. We were in our backyard and I remember seeing Missy across Miss Farr's and Mr. Dimock's yards. She appeared to be curious about the new family moving into the neighborhood. My dad suggested I should introduce myself and ask if she would like to play. Being real smooth, I yelled out, "Hey you, wanna play?" Melissa smiled, came right over and introduced herself. She was so friendly and welcoming that first day, it is a feeling that has stuck with me all of my life. I may be fuzzy about the details, but it is and will remain one of my most vivid childhood memories. My wife Heather, daughter Madeline and I offer our deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I have fond memories of singing with Melissa during my freshman year of high school (her senior year). I fell in love with the song "Lean on Me" after hearing her sing it. Although I haven't seen Missy since high school, I was heartbroken to hear she passed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Mrs. Javorski - I am so sorry for your loss. What a great friend, beautiful on the inside and out. I was so lucky to grow up with Missy. From meeting her in elementary school, watching her in Annie, going to see her dance performances, being in numerous classes with her, and even leaving college to go see her at the Danville hospital. May God give you peace and comfort in knowing what an amazing mother and friend you were to her. God Bless you and your family during this difficult time. Jody (Brown) Earl

To the family of Melissa Javorski, I am so very sorry for your loss. Missy was one of the most beautiful and unique girls I went to high school with. Her originality and realistic views of the world were what made her stand out. I always admired her beauty and talents.....the world does not see many women like her. She was put on this earth to leave an impression of what a strong woman is and she did just that :) Sincerely, Heather Wight
