Melissa C. Javorski, 36, of Tunkhannock, passed away Monday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born February 16, 1975 daughter of Ann Marie Kolodziejczak and the late John J. Javorski. Melissa graduated with honors in 1993 from Tunkhannock Area High School and attended LCCC, Penn State (Wilkes-Barre) and Misericordia University when her health allowed. She loved music and had an innate singing talent. She also played guitar and wrote much of her own lyrics and music. She was preceded in death by her father, John J. Javorski; maternal grandfather Edward Kolodziejczak; paternal grandparents, Felix and Cecelia Javorski; and paternal aunts and uncles. She is survived by her mother, with whom she resided; brother, Marc and wife Gina Javorski of California; maternal grandmother, Helen Kolodziejczak, and uncle, Richard and wife Virginia Kolodziejczak all of Nanticoke; aunt and uncle Alexa and Thomas Murtagh of Forked River, NJ, and great uncle, Bruno Javorski of Walnut Creek CA. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Wednesday from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 1 pm until the time of the service.
