Obituary of Clifton R. Furman

Clifton R. Furman 88, of Mehoopany Died Tuesday October 3, 2017 at The Gardens in Tunkhannock.

He was born in Mehoopany on May 7, 1929 son of the late Hobart and Frances Krewson Furman.

He was a member of the Forkston and Mehoopany United Methodist Church, Mehoopany Community Center, Mehoopany Grange, Mehoopany Water Shed, and Union Hill Cemetery Association. He also was a Scout Master and sang with the Endless Mountain Barbershop Quartet.  Clifton enjoyed farming on his family farm, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting.

Our family is saddened by his passing as we will miss him dearly. We do find extreme comfort in knowing that he was a man of strong faith with a passionate love for Jesus. It is that love that he shared with his family, his friends and his community that made him such a unique man. Because of his faith in something greater than himself or this world, he impacted many. It is that faith that now allows him an eternal place in heaven as a testimony to God’s goodness and favor for those who love him and trust in him. Well done Dad. Well done good and faithful servant!

He was preceded in death by his brother Pastor Edward Furman and daughter in law Renee Furman.

He is survived by his sons Ron and wife Terry Furman, of Mehoopany, Duane and wife Kimberly, of York, PA, Jason and wife Denise, of Indiana, daughter Clifteena and fiancée Bob Wilson, of Tunkhannock, grandchildren Shawn, Brandy, Serena, Abigail, and Eight Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 5 at 11:00 AM from the Mehoopany United Methodist Church interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Mehoopany. A Viewing for friends and family will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM from the Sheldon- Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA and Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Mehoopany United Methodist Church.
