So sorry to hear of Phil’s passing. I remember his early days at home after his surgery. Of course his care could have been intimidating, but , he took that on with courage and grace. I had no idea about all of his accomplishments. I do know that some patients are special and he was for me. I’ve wondered how the past several years had been for him. I hope he was not in pain.
For the brief time he was in my care, he touched me and I’m glad he was a part of my journey. I shared that with him on one morning that he was “blue”. Will keep you in my thoughts. Sincerely, Jane

So sorry to read of Phil's passing. I hadn't heard anything of him since my retirement in 2010 and often wondered where he was and what he might be doing in retirement. Great guy. I loved talking to him about his experiences in Spain, England and France. Great sense of humor and it was always a pleasure to interact with him during our days teaching languages in the Foreign Language Department at the Abington Heights School District. I will always remember him fondly.

I have been thinking about Phil recently and was so sorry to hear of his passing. He was my colleague and friend at Abington, and I admired his knowledge, his experience, and his wit. I treasure the small gifts that he brought back from his trips abroad, and I will always remember him fondly.

My sincere condolences to Phil's wife and family. Please know that I had much respect for "Mr. Nevin" and admired him for his linguistic skills. I had the privilege of working with him in the Foreign Language Department of the Abington Heights School District. Indeed he was an asset to the Department. Requiescat in pace.

I was very sad to hear the news of Mr. Nevin's passing. He was a wonderful, passionate teacher who I am glad to have known. My favorite class senior year was French 4. A funny memory I like to share is of the "french food" day we had. We all brought in our own choices of food, and Mr. Nevin also brought a selection of pâté. Only one other student and I were brave enough to try it, and we both thought the one flavor was absolutely disgusting. Per Mr. Nevin, that was due to our "unrefined pallets" (as he laughingly said). A few weeks later, he announced to the class that he wanted to apologize to us, as that flavor of pâté had been recalled due to spoilage!
As an additional and very important note, I met my wife on a school trip to Paris that I took in 2001 on the urging of Mr. Nevin. My wife went to a different school, but she has heard me talk about Mr. Nevin throughout the years.
I will continue to share these wonderful memories, and I wish his family peace in his passing knowing how loved he was by his students. Thank you Mr. Nevin.

Mr Nevin was my French Teacher in High School. I was horrible at the language but he never gave up on me!! I have thought of him since then many times when I would see the Rolling Stones and would chuckle at the many fun times in class. I am so sorry to the family for the loss of an amazing man. May you find comfort in the good memories that remain.
